A chance to talk to FlatpanelsHD's reviewers.

Hi Rasmus,

This is my first Post on FPHD...I reside in Canada but I am a regular visitor to this site and I am very much am a fan of your reviews and detailed info on all things Flat Panel!

Last year I purchased the PK950 based on your Top Recommendation.

I noticed in your review of the 2011 PZ950 you mentioned the input lag was around 35ms's...this is awesome. I like the fact that you now include this metric when evaluating display's...

I was wondering if the PK950 that you reviewed in 2010 had the same amount of input lag?
You mentioned in your review last year that "Input lag is quite low", but you provided no quantitative data to support this observation...can you recall the actual measurement?

A lot of people denounced last years Plasma line from LG on account of poor input lag readings (around 60 ms's as it was reported by some), and so I find it odd in that in less than 1 year, and it being a panel that more than likely has a similar architecture to this years PZ950, that the input lag readings would differ so vastly from 60ms's to 35ms's?
Is this really the case, or is the input lag on the 2010 PK950 also around 30-35ms's?

Side note - odd about the black levels getting worse on the PZ950...if there is one thing I find pretty disappointing about my PK950 - it is the black level! I shutter to think how it has worsened on their flagship offering year-on-year!! That is s definite drawback of LG PDP's...not sure why they continue to struggle with MLL in 2011 when every other PDP maker has nailed inky blacks by this point. I calibrated my T.V with your recommended settings on the PK950, and also using the Disney WOW calibration Blu Ray...and I am almost certain the black level is not .04mcd when set ideally and not crushing black detail (my brightness setting is 52, whereas as you had recommended 50)...sample variation perhaps? Regardless, I find the black level is very underwhelming on the PK950...too bad really because otherwise I am enjoying the T.V immensely.
