Samsung and LG unveiled their 55-inch OLED-TVs at CES 2012 in Las Vegas as the first two companies in the world. Panasonic’s president Fumio Ohtsubo now confirms that Panasonic is also working on OLED technology for TVs.
Panasonic working on OLED-TVs
Panasonic saw two of its competitors steal the attention at CES 2012 with their 55-inch OLED-TVs but Panasonic is also working on OLED-TVs, says president Fumio Ohtsubo. But we already knew that, didn’t we?

Panasonic released LED LCD and plasma models at CES 2012 but OLED-TVs are coming in the future, too
At the CES show Ohtsubo told the press,
- "Unfortunately we weren't able to show one at the show this time, but we are certainly developing it,"
And continued,
- "I can't say exactly when, but if Samsung and LG put theirs out this year we will try and make sure we are not too late."
Reuters interprets his response as a confirmation, and says that Panasonic may even release its own OLED-TV as soon as this year. It will be interesting to see if Panasonic chooses to utilize white OLED with color filters, like LG, or RGB OLED, like Samsung.
Instead Panasonic unveiled new 2012 plasma TVs and larger 2012 LED models at CES.
