Panasonic’s first Ultra HD TVs will launch this September, according to sources. A report from Digitimes also claims that Panasonic aims to launch 50, 58 and 65” Ultra HD TVs, possibly with wide color gamut.
Panasonic’s first Ultra HD TVs coming next month
Rumors about Panasonic’s first Ultra HD TVs launching at IFA 2013 next week have persisted for some time. Panasonic’s first Ultra HD TVs will be available in three sizes, if we are to believe sometimes-accurate Digitimes.

According to “industry sources” LCD panel manufacturer Innolux will supply Panasonic and Toshiba with 50, 58 and 65-inch Ultra HD LCD panels, starting this quarter. The panels could possibly support a color space as high as NTSC 100 %, which is significantly wider than Rec.709 used in HD content today, but not fully compliant with the color space in Rec.2020 that has been proposed for the Ultra HD standard.
The report says that Panasonic’s first Ultra HD TVs could launch this September. FlatpanelsHD can confirm that Panasonic will unveil Ultra HD TVs at IFA 2013 that kicks off next week, but cannot confirm the size classes.
