Today Apple has released a new 27-inch LED Cinema Display as a larger alternative to the current 24-inch LED Cinema Display. The new 27-inch monitor has a massive 2560x1440 resolution and a LED backlight. The price? 999 USD.<br /><br /><h3>Apple 27-inch LED Cinema Display</h3>Apple has released a 27-inch LED Cinema Display. We actually reported this in <a href=http://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1269008579 target=_blank><b>March 2010</b></a> but now the new Apple monitor is official.<br /><br /><p align=center><a id="thumb" href="pictures/apple27ledcinemadisplay-1l.jpg" class="highslide" rel="highslide"><img class="imgresponsive" src="pictures/apple27ledcinemadisplay-1.jpg" alt="Apple 27-inch LED Cinema Display" title="Click to enlarge" /></a><br><i>Apple 27-inch LED Cinema Display</i></p><br />The design is identical to the smaller 24-inch version and looks a lot like the iMacs, just without the lower part. This means a glossy front and a black edge around the panel. The stand is very minimalistic and stylish and allows the user to tilt the screen. The cabinet is made from aluminum without joints.<br /><br /><p align=center><a id="thumb" href="pictures/apple27ledcinemadisplay-2l.jpg" class="highslide" rel="highslide"><img class="imgresponsive" src="pictures/apple27ledcinemadisplay-2.jpg" alt="Apple 27-inch LED Cinema Display" title="Click to enlarge" /></a><br><i>Apple 27-inch LED Cinema Display</i></p><br /><h3>Connected through Mini DisplayPort</h3>The monitor is connected through mini DisplayPort and also has an integrated USB hub. In the top there’s an iSight camera with a microphone. Apple has also included 2.1 built-in speakers.<br /><br /><p align=center><a id="thumb" href="pictures/apple27ledcinemadisplay-3l.jpg" class="highslide" rel="highslide"><img class="imgresponsive" src="pictures/apple27ledcinemadisplay-3.jpg" alt="Apple 27-inch LED Cinema Display" title="Click to enlarge" /></a><br><i>Apple 27-inch LED Cinema Display</i></p><br />The 27-inch LED Cinema Display will utilize the same IPS panel as the 24-inch LED Cinema Display and it has a massive resolution of 2560x1440 pixels in the 16:9 aspect ratio. The panel will incorporate a LED backlight that should reduce power consumption considerably and make the monitor thinner.<br /><br /><p align=center><a id="thumb" href="pictures/apple27ledcinemadisplay-4l.jpg" class="highslide" rel="highslide"><img class="imgresponsive" src="pictures/apple27ledcinemadisplay-4.jpg" alt="Apple 27-inch LED Cinema Display" title="Click to enlarge" /></a><br><i>Apple 27-inch LED Cinema Display</i></p><br />Apple also mentions 12 ms response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 375 cd/m2 brightness, and 178/178 viewing angles. <br /><br /><h3>Online now</h3>Apple 27-inch LED Cinema Display is reported to cost 999 USD but is not for sale on the Apple Store yet. <br /><br />Expect to see a buy-button on the <a href=http://www.apple.com/displays/ target=_blank><b>product page here</b></a> in September.
