PlayStation Now coming to Samsung Smart TVs in 2015

26 Dec 2014 | Rasmus Larsen |

Sony believes that PlayStation Now is the future for PlayStation. With PS Now you can play your favorite games without the game console, and the service is coming to select Samsung’s Smart TVs in 2015.

PlayStation without the console

PlayStation Now streams games just like Netflix streams movies. No big downloads and no black box. All you need is a fast internet connection and a device with the PlayStation Now app installed.

PlayStation Now

Sony has already confirmed that it will roll out PlayStation Now on phones, tablets, Smart TVs and other devices. Samsung and Sony have now confirmed that the service will also come to select Samsung Smart TVs in the first half of 2015. There is no word whether it will work on 2014 or earlier Smart TVs, or if it will only work on brand-new 2015 models.

PlayStation Now currently works in the US and Canada but will expand to other regions in 2015. More than 200 PS3 and PS2 titles are available, says Sony.

PlayStation Now is also rumored to arrive on the Android TV platform that Sony will start integrating in its TVs from 2015. The announcement is expected at CES 2015. Read our hands-on experiences with PlayStation Now here.
